How Far Do Wireless Transmitters Reach?

Wireless transmission lets you easily achieve a much greater range than wired security camera systems (unless you string an awful lot of wire). The average range of a wireless transmitter receiver will vary from 200ft. to 700ft. depending on environmental conditions such as thick walls, or electrical activity. This is a much larger range than the average wired system which is about 100-200 ft.

We also offer an upgrade to High-Power units which can double the effective range your system will transmit and how far away your cameras can be from your monitoring and recording station.

Other Advantages of Wireless Security Cameras

Wireless security cameras also let you place your cameras in hard to reach locations which would be hard to access with a cable or wire. Wireless surveillance is a great solution for outdoor or temporary situations.

When you want to conceal the location or presence of your camera long black wires are a problem. Wireless surveillance is a good solution for situations using hidden cameras to monitor and record activity. Note: if you don't need to monitor the video live you might want to consider a hidden camera with a built in DVR recording unit.

Wireless transmitters can usually transmit effectively through walls, floors and ceilings.... pretty much like your home wireless router. There may be dead spots in any location due to interference from walls with a lot of metal in them or other wireless activity in the area.
