Security Encryption


When you enter the checkout process on our site, you may notice that your browser's address bar turns to blue Like so:

This assures you that your transaction is being protected with the highest encryption standard available.  For state of the art encryption, we use the COMODO Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Server Certificate with Extended Validation (EV).  Having the EV certification triggers web browsers to change their address bar to blue and to display our company's name.  Our COMODO SSL is based on virtually unbreakable high security 256-bit encryption with a 2048 byte key.  COMODO provides cutting edge protection for our transaction processing.  This may all sound very high tech, however the important thing to know in all of this is that your transactions with us are fully protected.

Anyone can get a basic SSL certificate.  These basic certificates do nothing except provide an encryption key for transaction processing.  While that's helpful, it doesn't provide any assurance about who you're actually doing business with.  When you see the blue bar in your browser, you know that the company you're dealing with is a real business and that we've been thoroughly vetted.  We've spared no expense to provide you with the confidence to shop here safely.

PCI Compliance


Your credit card information is safe with us because we don't store it. Once the transaction is processed, your credit card information is not kept.  The Security and Self Defense Store security practices are fully PCI Compliant.  PCI Compliance means we meet the high security standards set forth by the Payment Card Industry.  The PCI Standard is supported by all payment card brands including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, so you can feel certain that our level of security is directly approved by your credit card company.

In meeting PCI Standards, our online data systems are password secured.  Our servers are completely firewalled and have full anti-virus protection.  And since we never store your credit card information on our servers, there's no way that hackers will ever get access to stored credit card data off our site.  There's just nothing there for them to get.

  

Order Status

My Credit Card payment was declined

If your payment "DECLINES," please do the following when re-attempting an order:

1) make sure you enter the card holder's correct credit card statement billing address and zip in the Billing Address fields

2) verify the security code (CVV2) you enter is correct. (The last 3 digit number on the back of your credit card for MasterCard & VISA, 4 digit code above the number for American Express) contact your credit card bank first as they may have declined the transaction for other reasons.

We do not accept credit cards issued by non-USA banks or orders originated outside the USA. We do NOT ship to third parties (someone other than the credit card holder), freight forwarders, PO Boxes, or military bases.

Has my order shipped? Click the "login" link at the top right hand side of our site to check your orders status.

How do I change quantities or cancel an item in my order? Click the "login" link at the top right hand side of our site to view orders you have placed. Then click the "Change quantities / cancel orders" link to find and edit your order. Please note that once an order has begun processing or has shipped, the order is no longer editable.

My order never arrived. Click the "login" link at the top right hand side of our site to track your order status. Be sure that all of the items in your order have shipped already. If your packages each show a status of "delivered", please contact customer service for assistance.

When will my backorder arrive? Backordered items are those which our suppliers are unable to predict when they will have more in stock, but as soon as they do, we will be able to ship the item to you.

When will my order ship? Please see each individual item page for more information on the availability of each item. You will receive a shipment confirmation when your order has shipped and tracking information within 24-48 hours of shipment.
